SHOCKING SC VERDICT ON CRUELTY AGAINST WOMEN
CPM leader Brinda Karat has rightly and timely expressed voice of nation against shocking verdict by a Supreme Court bench holding that even kicking or psychological torture of a daughter-in-law by her in-laws does not amount to cruelty on women. It is a cause of concern that the verdict given by the division-bench becomes law of land because it is coming from the highest court of the land.
It is not the first time that Supreme Court has given unexpected and unpractical verdict which can cause undesirable effects in public-life. Such verdicts at times are even contradicting to verdicts given by other benches of Supreme Court. Only recently a Supreme Court verdict rightly complimented TV news-channel to carry out sting to expose corrupt role of leading lawyer RK Anand’s role in infamous BMW case. But earlier Zee TV and its journalists were forced to apologise for exposing corruption in lower judiciary!
Same happened when Supreme court declined to intervene in misusing public-funds to tune of thousands of crores rupees by UP Chief Minister Mayawati in erecting statues of her own, mentors, favourites and party-symbol. Otherwise on most occasions, Apex Court takes care of such anti-public activities of political rulers.

There are central govt. offices where the officials and officers travel by ordinary sleeper class by train or ordinary bus. but give fake ticket numbers and claim 2 AC train fare. Please advise the Railway Minister to issue circulars that all reimbursement of rail fare would be done only after producing at least a photocopy of the ticket or the railway authorities should not inisist on surrendering original tickets. Railways is losing a big chunk of revenue running into several crores.

Respectable and Honourable Prime Minister,
I would like to draw your attention on agriculture growth in our India. As every one knows, that we are on negative growth in agri sector.
This is mainly due to 1. It is non viable / Loss making sector as they could not able to fix price for their produces.
2. Yeild is not good due to poor crop management under bits and piceses of land.
3. Due to poor employment many people migrated to urban area for unskilld labour work. Now lack of man power at villages for agriculture work.
Kindly pay your attention on these area for permenant solution to rural India.
Thanks & regards, N.Seetharaman. Chennai.

AVIATION STRIKE ON AUGUST 18
It refers to ‘interesting’ news of private airlines threatening a strike on 18.08.2009 as a tool to assist their supporters in Union government for further allowing concessions to these airlines at cost of public-exchequer. Global-meltdown has severely affected almost all business-class families in the country, mostly belonging to middle-income group. Even family-suicides have been seen because of continuing business-losses and ever-increasing household and other expenses. If government is to help, then priority would be for such middle-class families and not to those ultra-rich groups capable of running aviation-business.
Even common public doe not know that aviation-companies are already getting huge financial benefit with superior-quality aviation-fuel available at much lower price than ordinary car-petrol sold to general public. Government being the owner of Air India is free for bail-out package for the national carrier because of losses in aviation-sector. Likewise, groups owning private airlines can offer bail-out packages from their other profit-earning companies. Does it not look funny that an ultra-rich Kingfisher group minting money from liquor-trade may be provided bail-out package to continue its airlines! Like any business-group, any aviation-company is free to close their airlines if it does not find it profitable. Government has priority to look into transport-sector used by commoners rather than aviation affordable by comparatively few.
